MJX, also known as Meijiaxin Toys, makes quality products remote control on your own manufacturing plant in Guandgon province of China for many years. The company is not new to the world of remote control devices.

But initially the company did not specialize in the production of quadrocopters. Like many other manufacturers, MJX has supported the trend of increasing demand for multicopters and started producing drone models just a couple of years ago.

They were initially very successful with their line of helicopters known as the F-series. Soon they switched to multi-rotor aviation industry and it became their main source of income.

The X101 arrives in a terrific package, which is pretty typical when it comes to MJX, but at this price point, no buyer would expect that kind of quality.

As usual, when you order items marked Made in China, the box may look a bit shabby. Although often the contents of the package remain intact, the outer packaging suffers greatly in transit.

The 2.4 GHz remote control frequency, thanks to automatic HP technology, allows you to control the quadcopter without interference when other unmanned aerial vehicles are nearby.

The latest 6-axis system gyroscope makes the aircraft more stable and easier to perform tricks such as 3D flip or hand flip in the air. Also, the copter, as expected, can move up / down, forward / backward, turn left / right and turn 360 degrees.

Operating flight time on one battery is about 10 minutes. It takes 150 minutes to fully charge a depleted battery.

Our drone is equipped with Wi-Fi, so even FPV (First Person View) flights are possible. Thus, the image is transferred to live from the camera to a smartphone, for which there is an additional bracket on the remote control.

Tests have shown that the Li-Po battery lasts approximately 11 minutes of flight, but this figure may vary depending on the nature of the control. However, after recharging the battery with the USB cable, restarting is only possible after 90 minutes. Therefore, it makes sense to purchase an additional battery for a quick replacement.

The copter looks very good, however, on the white body, when used, traces often remain after contact with the ground (grass, clay). It takes time and patience to clean them up.

In indoor tests, the quadcopter behaves stably and responds very well to control commands. In nature, great distances can be reached. Claimed 100 meters of range in the description in reality often reach 200 meters in good conditions.

When Headless mode is enabled, control commands on the transmitter should always be given depending on the position of the pilot and regardless of which way the “nose” of the quadcopter is currently facing. This is a huge relief for the pilot's coordination.

Camera

The C4010 looks big and imposing. For FPV to work, you need to download and install an application that is suitable for both C4008 and C4010. Unfortunately, this is not indicated in the manual or in the description, however, it is not necessary to know this for a normal flight.

After installing the application, you need to connect to the dedicated channel of the quadrocopter via Wi-Fi. Then the image on the phone display will work.

Roughly speaking, the image looks pretty good, but to fly only with it, the quality is not enough.

Keep in mind that the video that is saved to the memory card will not be the same. During the flight, two recordings of different quality are created - one is broadcast to a smartphone, and the second is saved to a file. The saved video will be clearer and brighter.

The picture on the phone is interrupted when the drone flies out of range. If the drone flew too far to wireless transmission, the image is "frozen" but recording is not completed.

Moreover, this recording will no longer be playable, as the file is corrupted. Software repair won't help. But to the delight of the owners, the copter cannot leave the boundaries of a stable connection too often and far, so the problem may be single.

Nevertheless big problem camera remains the quality of the recording. On the computer, the picture before the start, asphalt or grass, is actually recorded in good quality(720p).

But during the ascent, it turns out that everything that is further than 2–4 meters is very blurry. For owners, the best solution would be to install a Full HD Action Cam or GoPro, which the copter understands easily.

The drone is medium in size

X101 looks great, the front diodes look like eyes) I like that it has big size, holds the camera and loads. Serious thrust, speed is good, but could use a little more flight distance. Almost everything suits in this toy, there are no critical cons.

This apparatus is very effective for FPV piloting. I bought a C4008 camera and it works great with Netbook. The device responds perfectly to handling and keeps the average wind, you just need to maneuver. The return home is made, but it is worth keeping an eye on the distance.
