La Redoute: different for everyone, different for everyone. “La Redoute” is a French clothing company. What country is the la redoute brand from?

La Redoute- clothes, shoes, various accessories for the whole family, home textiles on the pages of the catalog from a famous French fashion company.

The history of the creation of the La Redoute trademark (La Redoute)

The company has a history of more than one century, since its foundation dates back to 1873. It was this year, in the north of Paris, at a distance of one hundred kilometers from the center of world fashion, in the town of Roubaix, Charles Pollet decided to build a spinning mill on a street called De La Redoute. It is worth noting that Polle had extensive experience in the textile industry.

Almost 50 years later, the La Redoute brand has opened a new stage of development. It all started with the company presenting its first product catalog in 1922. The capacity of this catalog was 16 pages of forty knitwear items. In addition, a sales department was opened, which dealt with sending goods by mail.

In 1963, the La Redoute brand had its own laboratory, which checked the quality of manufactured products.

In 1969, the company reached such a level that it could afford to order product models from famous fashion designers, and also invite famous supermodels to participate in a photo shoot for the pages of its catalog. By the way, this marketing ploy La Redoute was first used, after which many fashion brands began to follow their experience.

In 1986, the company became the owner of another brand called Best. All products of this brand were covered by a 1-year warranty, thanks to the presence of our own quality control laboratory.

In 1994, the La Redoute brand was absorbed big company Pinault-Printemps Group, which includes many French brands. A little later, this holding was renamed Pinault-Printemps-La Redoute.

In the early 2000s, during the development and spread of the Internet, the La Redoute brand began selling online. And by 2003, thanks to the Internet, about eight million products were sold.

In 2008, the company entered the territory of the CIS countries, in particular Russia. Today, the brand is one of the leaders in the global market among the huge number of companies that remotely sell their products through catalogs. The products are popular not only in European countries, but also in the United States. The number of regular customers of the brand has reached over 10 million people.

On the pages of the catalog you can find products from many well-known labels, as well as those brands that are the property of La Redoute. Throughout the existence of the company, famous world couturiers have participated in the creation of clothing. In addition, famous actresses and singers often appear on the pages of the catalogue.

At the core corporate identity The trademark is refined French chic. When making clothes, only natural materials are used. For women, the brand offers products that contain the charm and sophistication characteristic of France, combined with fashionable seasonal trends. For men, the company creates classic products - shirts, trousers, suits, jackets - all in business style. The brand also has something to offer to children, both very tiny and teenagers. Therefore, the advantage of La Redoute is the opportunity to buy clothes for all family members. In addition, an important area is the production of household goods and home textiles.

The brand "La Redoute" is known to 94% of the French. Today this brand is number one in France among women's clothing manufacturers and a leader in the production of lines for the home and household. The La Redoute brand belongs to the PPR holding company, which until 2005 was called Pinault-Printemps-Redoute. Thus, the "R" in the acronym stands for "La Redoute".

The company "La Redoute" was born back in 1928, in Roubaix. The La Redoute spinning mills have released their first product catalogue. About forty knitwear items were presented to 600 thousand customers in a small format catalog of just over 16 pages.

Six years earlier, on October 12, 1922, the Pollet family, which founded the spinning mills, was on the verge of bankruptcy. To sell stocks of goods, an advertisement was given in the magazine "Le Journal de Roubaix" entitled with just two words: "For knitwear." The Pollett family offered hand-spun yarn for sale and also invited those who needed skeins and balls of yarn to shop.

To my surprise, all the goods were sold out instantly. This was the beginning of a new trading business. Today the "La Redoute" catalog is a huge collection, weighing 1.7 kg, with 1200 pages. It has been translated into 18 languages and 13 million copies are published. This book has become a kind of Bible for those who order goods to their homes.

To get closer to this situation, the La Redoute brand adapted to all the changes taking place in France, where there were fewer and fewer rural residents and the number of cities was growing. In addition, La Redoute contributed to women's emancipation when it introduced the Kangourou payment card in 1969, which was the first to give women purchasing power.

Since 1969, La Redoute has strived to make high fashion accessible to everyone. This mini-revolution was launched by Emmanuelle Khan, who created the design of 32 exclusive La Redoute models. The process of democratization of fashion began and a period of collaboration began with such leading heads of fashion houses as Jean Paul Gaultier, Sonia Rykiel, Karl Lagerfeld, Yves Saint Laurent and many others. .

The product line, united under the general direction of "home decoration", was developed by such prominent designers as Sir Terence Conran, Jean Charles de Castelbajac, Jean Michel Wilmotte and Philippe Starck. Philippe Stark).

Many stars have worked with the La Redoute brand, including Isabelle Adjani, Françoise Hardy, Emmanuelle Béart, Chiara Mastroianni, Vanessa Paradis and Lou Doillon (Lou Doillon). These divas posed for the cameras of such venerable photographers as Jean-Marie Périer, Dominique Issermann, Kate Barry and Jean-Baptiste Mondino.

Hello, I am a shopaholic. Internet shopaholic...

The story of my friendship with La Redoute began many years ago, right from the moment the catalog arrived in Russia. By that time, I was already a client of Quelle and Bon Prix, but a thin La Redoute catalog fell into my hands... And away we go!

Today, most of my clothes are from La Redoute: from underwear to outerwear.

Of course, mistakes happen. Mainly because of the size. This is where the real roulette is... At the same time, I have no complaints about the quality. I’m very glad that reviews have finally appeared on the site, thanks to which you can get a more or less clear idea of the thing.

1. Underwear and pajamas. Bras: hitting the size, shape and volume 50/50. I deliberately bought inexpensive models, costing up to 700 rubles. Now I’ve given up buying bras because I still can’t decide on the right size. Panties: no complaints. Pajamas: capris + T-shirt (in currently this model is no longer available), the cost is 890 rubles. Nice, but very thin knitwear. The capris became twisted and stretched over time, but I still slept in my pajamas with pleasure. Although not for long... Most likely I will buy more.

2. T-shirts and tops. In general, they fit true to size. I especially love T-shirts with prints that are applied with high quality and do not fade when washed. However, there was a fly in the ointment. But this applies more to tops. Very often they have huge armholes and necklines. Some viscose models stretch greatly when worn. There are models that are completely ridiculous - wide and large, but in the photo they look more than decent.

T-shirts with long sleeves or 3/4 sleeves sometimes have a very low armhole that becomes part of the sleeve and extends to the middle of the forearm. This armhole is designed more for thin and normal arms; for fuller arms it will most likely be narrow. I can say that the small armhole is a distinctive feature of La Redoute.

3. Trousers and jeans. I found “my” jeans here. A common problem is size. Maybe you'll get lucky, maybe not. And if I have more or less figured it out with jeans, then with trousers it’s a completely complicated and incomprehensible story... For example, classic bootcut trousers fit strangely on my quite standard figure: they are huge on the butt and hips, but narrow in the legs. I once ordered 2 pairs of trousers, absolutely identical (model, size), but different in color. As a result, some arrived much smaller than others, although they were absolutely identical in markings.

4. Pullovers and cardigans. There are no complaints, the quality suits me quite well. The models I bought did not lose their shape after numerous washes, did not fade or stretch. They usually fit true to size.

5. Dresses and skirts. The general impression is that they run small. Of course, not all models. There are no complaints about the quality of tailoring. Since now it is possible to read reviews, I strongly recommend doing so.

6. Outerwear. I am very pleased. I bought a coat, a pea coat, 2 trench coats, price range from 1700 to 3000. I wear them with pleasure.

A few words about the service. Only once they made a mistake and didn’t put in what I ordered. Luckily, that “something” turned out to be a T-shirt that I had wanted for a long time. I did not make a return. It's really painful...

IN Lately orders are processed, generated and shipped very quickly. Although this may be due to the summer

I like that La Redoute periodically offers promotions, discounts, gifts and free shipping. This is what, along with quality product keeps me among regular and satisfied customers.

Thank you for your attention to the review. As always, I hope I was helpful

P.S.: I'll add a photo a little later.

The company "La Redoute" sells its products through catalogs and via the Internet. At the starting point, the founders of the food brand did not close their business, but their attempt to sell off stocks of goods turned out to be the beginning new era companies.

Currently, five or six La Redoute mini-catalogs are distributed each season to accelerate the company's development and satisfy customers' demands for new products. Up to 35 new products appear on the brand's website every 15 days. Having started its game of racing against time 80 years ago, the La Redoute brand has not given up its positions to this day and is regularly moving forward to the limit of the possible.

Recently, the sixth popular quiz appeared on the popular website Mnogo.ru, which I almost missed. You need to look more often at various sections and carefully read the announcements on the site.

This time a quiz from an online store of a brand we all already know called La Redoute. I didn’t make a separate section; I think it belongs in the Bonus of the Day questions. I will also give only one question from it and all the answers, since I don’t see the point in publishing all the questions. They already know them.

Answers to Quiz No. 6 with prizes from La Redoute on the Mnogo.ru website

1. The history of La Redoute began back in 1873, when Joseph Pollet, who came from a peasant family, founded the first workshop for dyeing this material in different colors, and his son, continuing his father’s work, built a factory on La Redoute street. What material did they produce?

This is one of the quiz questions, of which there are 11 in total. But there are 10 main questions, since the eleventh question is for pro forma. I wrote the answers to the questions below and illustrated them with a picture. It happens that in mobile browsers the picture somehow strangely magically disappears, gradually decreasing in size. But the main thing is that the description remains.
