Note. In the group of indices, the first two indices indicate the minimum value of the indicator s B, and the third index simultaneously characterizes the minimum values of the indicators d 5 and T X . If indicators d 5 and T x according to the table. 3 correspond to different indices, the third index is set according to the minimum value of the indicator d 5 , and the fourth additional index, indicated in brackets, characterizing the indicator T x (see an example of compiling a group of indices for electrodes of the UONII 13/45 brand).

9. In the conventional designation of electrodes for welding alloyed structural steels with a tensile strength of more than 60 kgf / mm 2, a group of indices indicating the characteristics of the deposited metal and weld metal indicates the average content of the main chemical elements in the deposited metal, as well as the minimum temperature at which impact toughness of the weld metal and deposited metal when testing specimens of type IX according to GOST 6996-66 , and should include:

a) the first index of a two-digit number corresponding to the average carbon content in the deposited metal in hundredths of a percent;

b) subsequent indices, each of which consists of the letter designation of the corresponding main chemical element and the number following it, showing the average content of this element in the deposited metal in percent (with an error of up to 1%);

c) the last index characterizing the minimum temperature at which the impact strength of the weld metal and deposited metal when testing specimens of type IX according to GOST 6996-66 is at least 3.5 kgf m / cm 2 , according to table. 4.

10. In the symbol of electrodes for welding alloyed heat-resistant steels, the group of indices indicating the characteristics of the deposited metal and the weld metal should include two indices.

The first index, similar to the last index according to clause 9c, indicates the minimum temperature at which the impact strength of the weld metal and deposited metal when testing specimens of type IX according to GOST 6996-66 is at least 3.5 kgf m / cm 2 (Table 4 ).

Table 4

Notes:

1. The main chemical elements, in addition to carbon, should include only alloying elements that determine the level of mechanical properties of the deposited metal. At the same time, silicon and manganese are considered the main chemical elements if their average content in the deposited metal exceeds 0.8%.

2. The order of the letter designations of chemical elements is determined by the decrease in the average content of the corresponding elements in the deposited metal.

3. If the average content of the main chemical element in the deposited metal is less than 0.8%, the number behind the letter designation of the chemical element is not indicated.

4. Chemical elements contained in. deposited metal, denoted by the following letters: B - niobium, C - tungsten, G - manganese, D - copper, M - molybdenum, H - nickel, C - silicon, T - titanium, F - vanadium, X - chromium, Yu - aluminum.

5. In a group of indices, a dash (-) is placed before the last index.

The second index indicates the maximum operating temperature at which the indicators of long-term strength of the deposited metal and weld metal are regulated (Table 5).

Table 5

11. All data necessary for compiling groups of indices according to paragraphs. 8.10 should be taken from the standards or specifications for electrodes of specific brands.

In the group of indices of the symbol for electrodes for welding carbon and low-alloy structural steels with a temporary tensile strength of up to 60 kgf / mm 2 (clause 8), data should be given for the weld metal and deposited metal in the state after welding (without heat treatment).

In the group of indices for the symbol of electrodes for welding alloyed structural steels with a temporary tensile strength of more than 60 kgf / mm 2, as well as for welding alloyed heat-resistant steels (clauses 9 and 10), data should be given for the weld metal and deposited metal after heat treatment according to modes , regulated by standards or specifications for electrodes of specific brands.

If there are no data in the standards or technical specifications necessary for indexing the corresponding indicators of the mechanical properties of the weld metal and deposited metal, these indicators are considered as non-regulated.
